Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives

HHCF is built on diversity. Our leadership team is comprised of those whose lived experiences reflect the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Initiatives at the heart of our mission. We seek to create a more inclusive and supportive community. Our DEI programs aim to foster an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered, regardless of their background or identity.

Our initiatives include training sessions on cultural competency, anti-bias education, and inclusive practices for individuals, schools, and organizations. We also provide resources and support to help marginalized groups overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

06

College Readiness

Our College Readiness Programming at Holistic House and Community Healing Foundation equips students with the tools and support they need to succeed in higher education. Through personalized mentoring, workshops, and resource development, we help students navigate the college application process and provide another source of support to help our HHCF kids launch. Join us in empowering the next generation to achieve their educational dreams and build a brighter future.

Our Team

We were founded on the streets of Trenton and we keep our mission true to their grassroots origins.

Tamara Pommells

Our Founder and Executive Director

Tamara Pommells LPC, LCADC, ACS

“In 2012, I was tasked to create a substance prevention program for adolescent youth involved with the juvenile justice system. But our youth are a reflection of OUR families and OUR communities. They do not change if we do not change. If we want better youth, WE need to do better and practice healthier habits. Healthier habits become integrated when we increase our insight, address generational trauma, and build healthier systems.”

Our Director of Development

Cecil Boone EdS, EdD (c)

“After 26 years in law enforcement, football, and the military, it is time to live my life’s work of building resilience and creating healthier communities. When I was a child growing up in Trenton, someone saw me and helped me along the way. Today, I see others and what they could be and what they want to be; I want to be a part of that. At my core, I am a coach and mentor who believes that we can get there if we work together.”

Our Director of Programming

Jackson Boone

“I was born in Trenton with roots stretching back over five generations and a firm commitment to our community. I was mentored and coached to implement service as the rent we pay for our place on this earth. We are a new generation seeking solutions that encourage empathy and increase respect for others. My work with HHCF is a small step towards the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) that will help us find our way forward.”
